Mystery/thriller month continues with Brian DePalma's 1981 masterpiece BLOW OUT, starring everyone's favorite Sweat Hog Vinnie Barbarino (aka John Travolta). 

Barbarino plays sound effects man Jack Terry, witness to a political assassination. Barbarino is joined by a stellar cast including Nancy Allen (Robocop, Carrie), John Lithgow (3rd Rock From The Sun), and Dennis Franz (NYPD Blue). This criminally overlooked film combines elements of Hitchcock and the Italian genre giallo (slasher/psychological horror/crime fiction) and may just be Barbarino's greatest on screen performance.

As a prelude to Brian DePalma's classic 1981 thriller BLOW OUT starring John Travolta, we take a look at his most recent offering, 2019's THE FANATIC from writer/director and former Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst. 

This much maligned film deals with the character of Moose (Travolta), an unbalanced Hollywood street performer who has an unhealthy obsession with movie star Hunter Dunbar (Devon Sawa). Travolta goes out on a limb in a performance that must be seen to be believed.

Join us as we dip our big toe into the pool of VOD (video on demand) for a spotlight on Cage's newest offering, 2019's PRIMAL. The Cage plays a big game hunter who has captured a white jaguar in the rain forests of Brazil who must contend with a bad dude assassin on the boat ride home. The spirit of the Cage Match is alive and well! Dan and Faith will be scoring the film in the categories overall movie, hair, voice, facial expressions and the Cage factor, that undefinable thing he brings to both life and movies. January is mystery/thriller month on the Late Night Fright! Join us for a look back at Clint Eastwood's 1971 directorial debut PLAY MISTY FOR ME. Eastwood stars as a Carmel disc jockey who has a one night stand with an obsessed fan. The fan is expertly played by Jessica Walter and the film has a Hitchcock/slasher vibe. Pour yourself a cup of coffee, put your feet up and get ready to howl at the moon...it's time for the LATE NIGHT FRIGHT! 

Join the Late night Fright for a look at the 2013 documentary MILIUS which chronicles the life and times of legendary screenwriter John Milius. He's responsible for a lot of your favorite movies and you don't even know it! 

Mystery/thriller month continues on the Late Night Fright with director Don Siegel’s classic 1971 actioner DIRTY HARRY. Clint Eastwood stars as San Francisco Inspector Harry Callahan, charged with apprehending the vile Scorpio, played by Andrew Robinson.

The script features contributions from the legendary John Milius and some of the most quotable and memorable moments ever put on screen. Milius also concocted the story for 1973’s MAGNUM FORCE, the second of the five Dirty Harry films.
